It's nice to see that Brazil is using such a wide-range of energy sources. Brazil has definitely had the need to expand its energy needs due to it's growth and it's place in the worlds economy.

US and Brazil are the two countries with the highest ethanol production (around 87% of the total production in the world). It is used as a fuel additive to the gasoline. In US, 10% of ethanol is added to the gasoline while in Brazil is around 30%. Biofuel is a form of renewable energy. Ethanol can be obtained from crops like corn, sugar cane, potato and manioc. I think that is really good to use this type of biofuels to decrease pollution caused by cars. However, if ethanol completely replaces gasoline, the price of food will be increased because the large area of land to cultivate the source of ethanol. Another important point is to analyze the pollution cause by fertilizers. Probably ethanol is a good biofueld, but it is necessary tried to research other sources where the production process will not very expensive, polluting and also be more efficient.
